12.07.2008 - Und da geht sie dahin: Heute kam das vorläufig Ende für die spanische TP 52 CAM bei der Regatta Trofeo de la Reina Rolex Cup vor Valenica. Nach den bislang bekannten Infos z.B. von Valencia Sailing kam es zu einem massiven Bruch im Unterwasserbereich des Bug.  In dem Forum von SA.com kursiert die Info, dass im letzten Winter das Boot auf einer spanischen Werft am Bug überarbeitet wurde. Einer der Eigner sprach davon, dass der Riss im Rumpf heute so groß war, dass locker ein Mann hindurch gepasst hätte. Noch mehr Bilder findet ihr auf der Website von Maria Muina.

Ein 78-Jähriger hat versucht, mit einem gestohlenen Boot von Dänemark aus nach Schweden zu rudern. Für die Tour war der Mann allerdings viel zu betrunken - seinen Rausch schlief er mitten auf dem vielbefahrenen Öresund aus.
Kopenhagen - Die Heimreise nach Schweden endete für einen 78-Jährigen mitten auf dem Öresund: Die Wasserschutzpolizei fand den Mann in einem gestohlenen Boot auf der vielbefahrenen Wasserstraße zwischen Dänemark und Schweden. Der Mann war während der Tour eingeschlafen.
Sein gesamtes Geld hatte er zuvor bei seinem Dänemark-Besuch in Alkohol umgesetzt - für ein Fährticket reichte es nicht mehr. Am Hafen von Helsingör schnappte er sich nach Polizeiangaben eine Jolle und ruderte gen Heimat.
Zumindest versuchte er es: Denn die fünf Kilometer breite Wasserstraße erwies sich schnell als anstrengende Route. Der Mann wurde irgendwann müde, legte die Ruder beiseite und schlief erstmal seinen Rausch aus.
Nach der Rettungsaktion durch die Polizei durfte der Schwede auf Staatskosten mit der Fähre heimfahren. Der dänische Eigner des Bootes sah keinen Grund für eine Anzeige.    reh/dpa

Die 500-Meilen Marke ist gefallen, zum ersten Mal an Bord eines Open 60. [...] Damit hat das Duo Thomson/Cape den 24-Stunden-Rekord in der Wertungsklasse Monohull bis 60 Fuß aufgestellt. Allerdings hat sich Thomson damit nur selbst geschlagen: Er hielt auch den alten Rekord (468 Meilen) mit dem Vorgängerboot "Hugo Boss", das letztes Jahr nach Kielproblemen gesunken ist.
